Starting last year i thought it would be fun to sew Hailey something special for her to wear on her birthday.
Well this one i barely finished in time!
Here is the top i made her last year
This year i decided to do a dress.

I've never made one

Cinnamon Churro Chex Mix

Lately I have been into 3 different kinds of food.
Different kinds of green Salads.
Healthy fruit/veggie Smoothies.
And
Chex Mix.
Yes call me weird....hahaha
Kind of a weird mix of foods/drinks.
So i have been trying out different chex mix recipes and stumbled across this sweet one that is
yummy.yum.yum.
Cinnamon Churro Chex Mix.

Here's How I Made It:
9 cups Chex Cereal
1 cup cinnamon Chips
1/2 cup Butter ( To much butter for me so put in less!)
1/2 cup Powdered sugar
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar ( This was also to much sugar for me so i only put in a little of it.)
1 1/2tsp. Cinnamon

 Oh yes and a helper!

First i measured out my cereal in a large bowl...i didn't know it but 9 cups it basically one whole box of Chex cereal.
Next - i melted the cinnamon chips and butter, until smooth.
Then i poured it over the chex and mixed until it was evenly coated.
(as you can tell i used the same bowl to melt and mix dry ingredients.....lazy me)

Last I mixed the powdered sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon together and mixed it into the chex mixture.

Then i spread it on parchment paper until it was cooled.

And after that it was a tasty snack!

Summer Fun List

I've been wanting to make this summer fun list since probably last summer.
So this year i decided to make one.
You can use it for any season and just change the colors of the rectangles
(which i plan on doing)
Maybe it's just me but i seem to get more done when i have a list to check off!
Plus i got Hailey excited about all the fun things we're going to start doing!
So here's how i made my
'Summer Fun List'
(It's very similar to the paint chip calendar i made HERE)

To make it i used:
some double sided tape
paint chips
poster board
scissors

I also used a long frame that i had in the closet (collecting dust)

First i cut out the poster board to fit the frame.
Then i cut the words off the ends of the paint chips and taped them to the poster board.

I thought it still looked a little plain so i dressed it up a bit with the leftover paint chips.
I also didn't measure anything or try to get it straight as you can tell.

Then I put it in the frame.
The glass acts a  dry erase surface so i used a dry erase marker to write down some fun summer activities.
I have high hopes we'll do more than what's on the list.....but it's a good start!
I'm loving how it turned out!

What do you have planned for the summer?

Life

Has it really been over a month since i blogged?
Wow.
This year is flying by!
Here's a little up to date of what we've been up to lately.

Escalator ride
really exciting right?
For a 3 year old its the best thing ever!

 Somebody started soccer!
And loves it!!

Made a trip to our favorite library to find out we can't check out books there anymore because we don't live in the city :(
So we enjoyed there fish before left.
That fish on the left with the big teeth- get me every time!

Being silly
This kid cracks me up!

Enjoying some blue skies

And warmer weather!

Which means we spend a lot of time outside while the sun is here.

Making a wish.......except she ended up not being able to blow it hard enough.....haha

Park time with Baby O

Look what we found in the tree!
A leftover Easter egg with candy :D

We squeezed in some time to go to the science museum and got to see the 'world's largest electric guitar'

Little miss fancy pants.
Play date at a friends house.

So that's where we've been for the last month!

Easter 2013

Easter 2013
What a great Easter!
Probably the Best one ever!
But then again i say that every year!
Be ready for a picture overload all my
Friends
Family
and any other bloggers who stop by my little space.

On SATURDAY morning we headed to a local Easter egg hunt
we literally got there when they said
"GO!"
so we ran Hailey down just in time!

Who's egg will it be?
I think Hailey had the quicker hand ;)

Checking out the fire truck on the way out.
They had a lot of stuff to do at the Easter egg hunt but there were hundreds of people there and since we came late we didn't feel like standing in a long line of 50+ people so Hailey could jump in a bounce house for 5 minutes.
So instead we headed to the zoo for another
Easter egg Hunt!
It was a beautiful day!
so we stayed and looked at the animals too.
By the end of the after noon my feet were killing me!
But i do love the zoo!
Riding the merry go round .
Doesn't every zoo have one of these?
This girl has always loved the merry go round!
So by the time we got home from the zoo it was pretty late so we called it a day.
On Sunday morning i attempted to make bunny cinnamon rolls
i think it was  a bit of a failure.
We had church at 9am so it didn't leave much time to do anything in the morning except 1 thing.

To plant some candy!
jelly beans to be exact
(found this idea on pinterest)
She was pretty stoked to plant some jelly beans
and was so excited that only 3 hours later (when we got back from church
they had grown into
Lolly pops!
Can you see the excitement?!
I had to make sure she knew that you can only grow candy on
EASTER.
(i really wanted to do it the night before Easter but you know things happen)
Anyways she loved it!

Inside the house the  'easter bunny' had already arrived.
And decided to stay ;)

After lunch we went over the Easter story with Hailey using
idea, this is our second year doing the 12 days of Easter.
To better help Hailey understand the Easter story we also did
'Resurrection Rolls'
Loved.Loved. Loved. this idea
I think we found a new tradition ;)
(they also tasted amazing which was a plus!)
Hailey got to decorate eggs for the first time too.
I might just have a little egg artist on my hands.

For dinner we didn't do anything big or special i just made THIS which i absolutely Love!

And then we ended the day with watching the 'Easter Beagel'
Such a cute show,Hailey had never seen it before and really liked it!

So a great Easter this year, can't wait to see what we come up with next year!
